WHEN LOVE SAW RED

Like a script written in heaven and delivered by angels
Both lovers easily read the lines in perfect unison
Fluid graceful actions paid compliment to this script
Passion and acceptance could be seen a mile away
The story was unfolding in a blaze of glory
Just because it was a plot based on love

Like a ship sailing in fair weather
Both lovers set sail with belief
Premised on nature being so fair and calm
The anticipated waves in all its ugliness
Will never defeat the charted course
Just because love was at the helm

Soothing and electrifying was the ride
Passion at its most expressive
In words and actions and unseen glances
Made this ride a most exciting one
Both lovers read their respective lines admirably
Anticipating the exact  thoughts of the other
Just because their love was in sync

As foretold and expected
The waves hit serially
Both lovers forgot the written script
Pulsating nerves took over control
Bickering and hateful words came into the lines
A desire to outdo muddled the script
The ship on its last legs may be lost
Just because love has seen red

Fiery

Walked into a whirlpool first time I saw her
A flowing hair that graced a lovely face
Lips that tugged at the heart
Well sculptured jaw that introduced a lovely neckline
Set her apart

A body to match was alluring
Nature certainly paid her a compliment
What would a mortal man do
In the face of such beauty

Feelings ran high
The heart working at overdrive
Made resistance impossible
The sun in her face
Made the Mona Lisa obsolete
She’s nature’s master class

A good heart graced that body
A winning personality a force
Am lost in you
But fate is adamant it can’t be
I got one over fate
That memory is embedded deep down
In my heart

God for gods

Different variations in life pretty much form a myriad of problems for the toughest of men. Factor in the issue of life after death and you got a serious case of scrambled thinking. But one fact that holds sway is that death is surely nearby. The time it strikes not yet decoded by the most sophisticated technology available to man, unless some cynics will say that doctors can almost accurately predict death in cases of fatal illnesses like cancer. Mind you, some have cheated such predictions by a mile and even outlived the person predicting. Whatever the cause of such a 'miracle' isn’t the point of my genuflections.

My primary concern is the establishment of the force behind this gigantic titan called the globe or the universe. Scientists have definitely given us a lot to think about but I want to home in on Charles Darwin. Cant say am a great mind in the theory of evolution but the basics I can grasp. Got a question for this school of thought. Why hasn’t man gone further in evolving into something else or is this the last stage of the evolution process? Too bad the father of this school of thought can’t address this but I hope someone else will do.

Zeroing in on the issue of the being behind this phenomenon, earth, religions come into the fore. So many religions, sects, ‘ways of life’, etc exist that some have chosen to go by the way of using different gimmicks to carve a niche for themselves in advancing whatever cause they uphold. I have my views on this but for the sake of trying to be open – minded having found myself in the 21st Century, I wouldn’t argue for my belief. But the poser I got is this, no matter the nomenclature it goes by, any religion, sect or whatever it may be called that preaches peace, love, selflessness, devotion, tolerance and all the other goody goody virtues, isn’t it logical to follow same and leave the fight of supremacy to the God or gods involved?  If the worshipped is worth its salt, it will fight the other pretenders without help from us. The act of killing, maiming and disregard for life in the name of religion, goes to show that the god being fought for, is but a weak figment of the imagination which has been imposed on the unlucky followers. Bottom-line, leave the fight to the supernatural beings, let the living live. After death, we will find out what actually is the way forward, either the God or god comes to us, or we go to them.

Race by the Human Race

From the time the tiny cry pierces the air
Delicate arms flapping
Eyes cringing and body still wet
A time is set going for the child
Pulse activated and nature the umpire
That is the start of the human race

From helplessness to little activities
Energy aplenty in the burgeoning body
Needs changing by the passing day
High and lows easily noticeable
The human race is warming up

Toddler to teenager pops up like a vision
Nature has played a fast one on us
The irreversible and somewhat uncomfortable changes
Causes a feeling of eternal joy and distraught
The human race is at the flowering stage

A set pattern is developed like the flight of a swan
Sacrifices and offerings play a role
Fights won and lost triggers a trait
Goals met and dreams yet to be realised
Set the course of the human race to its end

Frailty and fragility creep in like a thief on the go
The red light is up in the body and mind
Reminiscences slowly grinds the wheels of the mind
Keeping the body toiling  through each day
Like a blur a pact is made with nature
A last intake of the only free gift
A stillness and sudden flight of the caged spirit
Signifies the zenith and end of the human race

Unbalanced

Dillinger sat in the court thinking of the next line of action he will take. The Judge's droning voice made him feel like a tethered bull. He wished the irritating voice will simply pronounce the judgement so he could get it over and done with since he knew what the outcome would be. His eyes wandered around the court room and his nimble mind tried to fathom what will be going on behind those numerous pairs of eyes trained on him like the gunsight of a German sniper. He allowed himself a wry smile. A sharp jab to his ribs and the ghostlike voice of his attorney saying, 'focus on the court', brought him back to the present.

'It seems to me, that you Dillinger, deliberately mismanaged and recklessly dealt with the accounts of your clients', the Judge bellowed. In a softer yet ominous tone he continued, 'such precedence should be nipped at the bud. So many lives have been ruined by your actions and you deserve every bit of punishment this court can mete out on such a heinous crime'. A wail erupted from the back of the court and a sob accompanied it  from the next aisle adding a bit of  flavour to the crying chorus. 'Pathetic losers', Dillinger thought to himself. He swivelled and wasn't surprised when it was that hideous looking Mrs Berry leading the crying chorus.

The Judge impatiently banged his gavel. He needed no distractions when he was almost at the part he liked most. The courtroom was his and he liked the attention to be focused solely on him as he practiced his 'art'. Cottonboom CJ had a reputation for theatrics. His judgements were read out like a 'B rated' actor would read his ill-written script. A squeaky voice that sounded like a thousand rats vying for a morsel of bread did not help his case. Yet, he liked to practice what he called, 'judicial eloquence'. The courtroom staff and lawyers secretly called him the 'Judicial Squealer'. The court falling silent, he plodded on, 'you have been found guilty and will be sentenced accordingly'. Raising his voice a shade higher, his eyes eerily pinned on the accused, mouth stretched and each word pronounced distinctly with added venom, he gave his verdict. 'I hereby order that you be divested of all your assets', he waited a moment while his snakelike tongue crawled on his lips, 'and i accordingly sentence you to ten years in the State Penitentiary. Leaning further forward, he whispered with a wolfish smile on his face, 'i hope they get rid of your recklessness before your time is up'. He suddenly collapsed against the back of his chair and surveyed the hushed audience.

This was the part he liked most - the feeling that they knew he knew that he wielded immense power. He abruptly stood up and the court was dismissed. 'Better to leave while they were still in awe of his sentence', he muttered to himself as he made his way hastily to his chambers.

The cuff firmly in place, officers flanking his sides, the condemned man was led away. The small wizened man at the seat nearest the door, stood up as Dillinger was nearing the door. A brief eye contact sealed the deal and the world was about to witness yet another Dillinger headline.

...To be continued

The Excuse Called Valentine's Day

Today, what will  pre-dominately be the theme, will be 'love'. So am gonna join in talking if not showing love. Am no great Historian, so i can't confidently trace the origin of Valentine's day. Even at that, one can deduce it borders on love. The originator certainly showered love on the less privileged, making the lives of the miserable, a memorable one. I believe the 14th of Feb is to commemorate the demise of St. Valentine, not for a poor excuse to use gifts and dinners to jump into the sack for some bit of natural exploitation.

The modern trend has become one for lovers ( both legal and illegal lovers) to prove that they love their partner. It has also turned into a day of judgement. Failure to provide an acceptable gift for him/her marks the beginning of the end of that relationship. You might even be shut out of the bedroom tonight for not providing good evidence of your love for her. Don't get me wrong, am not against it, everyone's got his/her idionsyncracies, mine is definitely not on the 14th of Feb. Maybe am a bit coldhearted or a miserable single male envying the partnered ones....hehe

Well, whatever category you fall into, make an impact on someone less privileged than you today. Not some missplaced sense of love for him/her. Think about this, try showing that love all year round.

Burry

A horde of horses once set out for pasture anew
Burrry the biggest male horse, it's head
So many days and nights
His instinct and bravery
Saved the day for the poor horses

Many disliked him for being him
Tough, brave yet gentle
The females took to him
As an eagle would take to the sky
Through many a nudge
And gentle his probing
Burry led his group

Alas they came upon a hill
Looking downwards
Was a view never known to them
Pasture aplenty
Flowers colouring it
And a gentle breeze to add
To it's grandeur

Burry stood quivering
Throwing his head back
He neighed triumphantly
Off he went
Majestic in flight
Flanks finelly chiselled
Was a sight to behold
Strong hoofs pounding the earth
Reinforced his strength

Down he went
crashing into a pit
His hind quarters
Broken
With pain-filled eyes
Burry looked at the splendour around him

With life slowly seeping out of him
Other horses gathered
Keeping watch
Helpless were they
They did him an honor
Standing guard
Not partaking of the food
In abundance at the valley
Though hunger knawed at them

Burry though not dead yet
Closed his eyes and breathed his last
So his friends could carry on
They left to feed
Burry watched the life seep out
A great horse dropped his head
And valiantly
Accepted fate

For a Girl I named Ginger

The sublimeness of the first sun is amazing
Sensuous is the comforting rays
Amazing the feeling of contentment
Emotions are put on hold while the body enjoys the sun's comfort

Ginger is a spice and spicy too
A combination of naturalness and rootage
Just like the rays of the sun, sensuous
Bright and blinding
Yet mischievious
Above all, amazing

Just You

Starting from the zenith
An almost reddish hue of a flufffy hair
Amazing blue eyes to my awed eyes
Though green as am told
A ready quick smile
Simply enchanting in its enthralling manner
Flutter the heart it sure does

The spirit i bet is gay and unburdened
If mankind could read the mind
The task would have been easier
A fort is firmly fixed in that heart
The spirit, mind and heart
Are worth knowing

A bit of personalisation
Your eyes are your most enchanting assets
Soporific its glare
Beauty is your way of life
I love beauty-who doesn't?
Your audaciously beautiful
Logically, i love you
Such impertinence on my part
Lol... a writers licence..

Such frenzied words

Imaginary is the word
My heart is vexed within me
I thought of an informal dinner
And a drive afterwards
But one comes readily to mind
A quiet informal dinner
An indirect invite

Tomorrow is full of uncertainties
Eternal is the law of nature
Faith's like potatoes
Layers to be peeled
Affection is like bananas
It comes in bunches

Tentative are the first steps of the child
Surer it's later strides
Maturity steadies it's steps
So it is with the heart

Darling you have made a big hit
Loosening feelings closely guarded
With a simple smile and an iron-bending beauty
Coupled with a winning personality

My fingers betray me
Churning out words i rather hold back
But i know it's a leeway
To unburden my cramped mind
Since HE likes to act the tough guy
A secret you and i now know
He's a softie right where it matters

Don't hold this against me
I might be slightly unrefined
Diamonds can be found in the rough
You touch a raw nerve in me
How you do that
I do not know
It unnerves me alot
But it is a welcome feeling

A little bit of Manchester United
